Chimamanda Adichie, Aliko Dangote, Arunma Oteh & More Nominated for Forbes Africa 2014 Person of the Year Award

Forbes Person of the Year 2014Forbes Africa has revealed the nominees for their 2014 Person of the Year award and notably, three Nigerians
are on the list – Aliko Dangote, author Chimamanda Adichie and Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Arunma Oteh.
Also on the list are Thuli Madonsela, a South African advocate and the nation’s public protector who helped draft the country’s constitution in 1994 and was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People this year as well as Donald Kaberuka, the Rwandan economist who has ushered in significant change for the continent during his 10 years tenure as the president of the African Development Bank.
According to Forbes, the award seeks to reward “the individual who, for better or worse, has had the most influence on business on the year gone by”.
The event is set to take place on the 4th of December 2014.
Forbes Person of the Year 2013 went to Nigerian, Akinwumi Adesina, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development for Nigeria. Forbes Person of the Year in 2012 went to James Mwangi, CEO of Equity Bank, Kenya. Also in 2011, the Forbes Person of the Year award went to Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
