3 Muslim Students Shot Dead Near U.S University

A 46-year-old man fatally shot three Muslim students in an apartment located close to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill 
Campus on Tuesday night.
The man, Craig Stephen Hicks, turned himself in after the shooting, and has been charged with murder, CNN reports.
Yusor Mohammad, 21; Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23; and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19, are the victims, They were shot in the head.
Barakat was Mohammad’s husband, and was a second-year student at the university’s dentistry school. Mohammad had plans to start school at the university during the Fall Semester.
Abu-Salha who was Mohammad’s sister, was a student at North Carolina State University.

Police authorities say Hicks may have killed the victims over a dispute over parking space. However, it is also being reported that his actions may have been hate-motivated.
Hicks, who is said to be an atheist, is rumoured to have posted the following statement on one of his social media accounts: “When it comes to insults, your religion started this, not me. If your religion kept its big mouth shut, so would I.”
