The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports
that the prayer session which held at the Salvador Towers in Surulere,
Lagos, was attended by the party’s members and supporters, including the
state chairman, Tunji Shelle.
Alhaji Abdulakeem Lawal,
National Amir, IKHWAN Society of Nigeria, who conducted the prayer
session, appealed to politicians to use political positions to serve.
He advised politicians to avoid comments capable of causing disaffection among Nigerians
“Everybody should go back to the drawing board and do well to others.
“If you want peace, be just,” he urged.
Speaking with newsmen later, Alhaji Moshood Salvador,
a chieftain of the party and a former member of House or
Representatives, said that the prayer was necessary for the success of
the elections.
He urged politicians to shun violence before, during and after the elections.
“We also thank God for keeping the nation together,” Salvador said.
