Former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo is accusing President Goodluck Jonathan of squandering crude oil savings that his administration left behind.
Vanguard reports
that Obasanjo made the allegation on Monday, while hosting South-West women leaders at his Abeokuta residence.
The report states that “Obasanjo said that the more than $25billion inherited by his successor, Musa Yar’Adua,
was raised to $35 billion but the Jonathan administration squandered
all, including also the $40billion in Nigeria’s foreign reserve account
after paying the outstanding debt at the time.”
Obasanjo went on to say that he holds no grudges against Jonathan, and that he is just fighting for what is right for Nigeria.
